In this article the eonomic impact of of quality on operation costs of the ompanies, highlithing tow following factors: 1) poor quality cost, and 2) quality cost are pointed out is described. The theory behind the quality cost is discussed and a case in the metropolitan area of Monterrey with the objective of exploring the fenomenon of quality and its imoact on the related costa is given. This study demonstrates the necessity of employing a system that measures the costs of the quality and thereof planning strategies for continuous improvement in the fimr.
