The competitiveness of companies nowadays is linked to strategies that can be adopted or created by the organizations; these can be developed in different ways. Therefore, this research was based on the internationalization of companies in the steel industry, specifically in the Northeast of Mexico, which is characterized as a highly industrialized area. Theoretically its scope in this sector will be identified, that scope allows them to gain market share in the international market and improve their competitiveness. These strategies are related to productive and administrative factors in this industry, identifying them theoretically to sustain the future development of an assessment tool, which will give us the identification of sensitive variables to make better the competitiveness.
